The Captain's Quarters features three bedrooms, three baths, a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a free standing wood-burning fireplace, queen-size sleeper sofa, Cable TV with VCR (we have some video tapes there but you might want to bring your favorite, clothes washer and dryer on property, wrap around deck, beautiful waterfront picnic area with a charcoal barbeque. Every room has a water view. The Captain's Quarters will sleep a maximum of eight people. The deck actually suspends over the water. From the street level you come down a long flight of stairs. The Captain's Quarters is not handicapped accessible. We are a self-sufficient vacation rental, so we do not provide daily maid service or breakfast. This is your home away from home. See list of provisions below.

One bedroom has a queen-size bed, private entry, and a great view of the ferries entering the harbor.

A second bedroom upstairs, has a queen-size bed, a private half-bath (sink & toilet) and a private deck overlooking the ferry landing and harbor.

A third bedroom has a double bed. a private entry, harbor view and a private bath with shower.

Entry to The Captain's Quarters takes you down a stairway from the street level to a wonderful natural landscaped yard, seasonal flowers and a full view of the harbor. The private deep water dock is just steps away.

The Captain's Quarters rate is $445.00 per night for six people. Can sleep 2 more if using sleeper sofa and that extra charge is $20.00 per person per night. Children do count in the number of people staying in the Captain's Quarters.  Maxium of 8 people. The minimum stay is three nights. We are a self-sufficient vacation rental, there is no daily housekeeping. There are no extra linens for more than the allowed six people.  Additional linens will be provided for extra paying guest.  We live on the property and we do not allow you to just show up with extra guests and not expect to pay the extra fee. Please do not embarrass us or yourself by thinking we will not charge you if you bring extra guests.  Guests not paying will be ask to leave.

Provisions in the Captain's Quarters: Radio/CD player, Cable TV-VCR, full kitchen with microwave, coffee/espresso maker, toaster, blender, crock pot, pots/pans, dishes, glassware and Jenniare cook top with oven.

The kitchen is stocked with coffee, tea and basic condiments, such as salt, pepper, sugar and creamer. Towels, linens and hairdryer are furnished. We do not furnish personal soaps or shampoo, toothpaste or other personal items. We do not furnish any food.

The Sweet Escape and The Summer Dream are a perfect combo for two couples traveling together or a family. They are separate, but side by side. Each has a separate entry. Both are about 50 feet from the waters edge.  We discount if you rent both together, but they can be rented separately. We are a self-sufficient vacation rental so we do not provide daily maid service or breakfast. This is your home away from home. See list of provisions below for these units.

The Sweet Escape is a studio apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, queen-size bed and a bath with a Jacuzzi bathtub and shower

The Sweet Escape has a great window seat (twin-size bed) for reading or watching the harbor activity. It also has Cable TV with a VCR some tapes there but you might want to bring your favorite with you. The views are unmatched. You will never tire of watching the harbor activity. A stairway from the street level leads to The Sweet Escape. The Sweet Escape is not handicapped accessible.  We are a vacation rental so we do not have daily maid service and we do have have breakfast. 

The Sweet Escape rate is $195.00 per night, double. Third person $20.00 per night. Children do count in the extra person charge.  Maxium 3 people. The minimum stay is two nights Rent it together with the Summer Dream and receive both for $370.00 per night, double, two night minimum.

Provisions in the Sweet Escape: Cable TV-VCR, radio, full kitchen with microwave, coffee pot, espresso maker, toaster, blender, crock pot, pots/pans, dishes, and glassware. The Summer Dream is located next door to the Sweet Escape, and features a full kitchen

The unrestricted harbor view is unmatched on San Juan Island, like the Sweet Escape there is nothing between you and the water but plate glass. The Summer Dream sits back from the water about 50 feet. The Summer Dream has a queen-size bed and the bath a Jacuzzi bathtub with shower.

The Summer Dream also has a wonderful window seat (twin bed size can sleep one person) to enjoy the tranquility, with absolutely one of the most dynamic water views available. Cable TV reception /VCR. A Stairway leads to the Summer Dream from the street level. The Summer Dream is not handicapped accessible.  We are a self-sufficient vacation rental and do not offer daily maid service and we do not have breakfast.

The rate is $195.00 per night, double. Extra person $20.00 per night. Children do count in the extra person charge. Maxium 3 people.The minimum stay is two nights.  Rent it together with the Sweet Escape and receive both for $370.00 per night, for total of 4 people, extra person charge is $20.00 per extra guests.  Two night minimum. We are a self-sufficient vacation rental, there is no daily housekeeping. Additional linens can be provided upon request.  There are no extra linens for more than the allowed six people.  We live on the property and we do not allow you to just show up with extra guests and not expect to pay the extra fee. Our private deep-water dock is 40-feet long and has over 20 feet of water at low tide. Thirty amp power and water are available on the dock at $20.00 per night. Dock space is free for our guests on a first-come-first-served basis. Only one boat allowed, no "rafting." Additional guests may not sleep on the boat and boat washing is not permitted. If your boating friends stop by to see you please remember they are not paying guest and are not allow to use the laundry or take baths. Abuse of this policy could mean that you are charged extra...remember this is a courtesy... we want you to enjoy but not abuse our hospitality.

Policies

 

Payment: Once you have selected the desired property, we will reserve the home in your name for the dates you request. When a reservation is made a confirmation will be sent to you by regular mail. Your rental money is due 30 days prior to your arrival date. All rentals are subject to local and State sales tax if less than 30 days. We do not accept VISA, MasterCard. Personal checks are accepted. If your reservation is less than 10 days before arrival we require a money order for the rental amount. We will mail your Rental Agreement to you. Please read the agreement carefully, confirm arrival and departure dates, sign the one copy and return it within the 10 day period. We hold the person whose name appears on the lease responsible for any payments, damage deposits, and all other responsibilities on the license agreement.

 

Methods of Payment: We do not accept Credit Cards. We gladly accept personal checks and money orders.

 

Check In: Anytime after 3:00 PM. Remember we are expecting you so the door will be open and the key will be on the table. We do this because of the ferry, just don't know which one you will be able to take. Just be sure to print out the map under "getting there " showing you how to get to your vacation home. It has the address of your vacation home and phone number to reach us.

 

Check Out: No later than 10:00 AM. We have to prepare for the next guests. Please leave keys on the kitchen counter.

 

Security Deposit: We no longer take security deposits, but you are subject to being charged for the following:

 

Damage: Any damage to the premises, grounds or furnishings and any loss due to theft.

 

Cleaning: Cleaning in excess of what is considered normal will be charged to you. Please wash and return dishes to cabinets, put trash in containers provided. We do the laundry. It is not necessary to make the beds ..but stripping them does help us to know which beds need attention.

 

Use of Premises: Unauthorized occupants sleeping on the property will result in being charged extra. Day guests will be charged if not cleared first. We base our rates upon an agreed upon number of guests. If you find you have unexpected persons accompanying you on your island visit, please let us know in advance. You are liable for any extra guests. The premises are for our paying guests only. If you plan a picnic or party using our property please clear with us first. We are a self-sufficient vacation rental, there is no daily housekeeping. Additional linens can be provided upon request. There are no extra linens for more than the paying guests. We live on the property and we do not allow you to just show up with extra guests and not expect to pay the extra fee. Please do not embarrass us or yourself by thinking we will not charge you if you bring extra guests.  Over night guests not paying will be ask to leave.

 

Pets: No pets are allowed. If pets are found on the premises you will be charged a cleaning fee. This applies to pets of visitors as well. Animal care is available on the island. We are very strict on this so please do not ask.

 

Refunds: We understand that sometimes it is necessary to change or cancel a reservation. Prior to 30 days of arrival date, any changes to a reservation could be assessed a $75.00 administration fee. Cancellations are subject to $75.00 fee. Notice must be submitted in writing (fax, mail or e-mail) In the event that the lease must be cancelled by the leaseholder less than 30 days before stay, leaseholder agrees to pay for one night's lodging if the property is not re-rented. We make every effort to re-lease as soon as we know of a vacancy. Any cancellations made less than 14 days before your arrival date will forfeit lease money for dates we are unable to re-lease regardless of reason. No refund for shorten stays unless we can re-lease. We will make every effort to re-lease the reserved property.

 

Smoking: Is not permitted indoors. Please feel free to smoke in areas provided outdoors.

 

Minimum stay: Three nights in the Captain's Quarters and Two Nights in the studio's. Sometimes we have "odd" nights available so just ask if you see an opening.

 

Children: We love children, but our accommodations for children are limited. Please make arrangements with us in advance for children twelve and under. Children over 12 are welcome with close supervision. However, children must not be allowed outside without supervision due to the high-bank waterfront. Children count as adults and are charged the adult rate.

 

Parking: Limited street parking is available. Friday Harbor Lights is located just two blocks from the ferry landing and town, close enough that you can leave your car on the mainland and walk on the ferry. We are located on Warbass Way which is a one way street. Please take notice that you do not come in the wrong way.

 

Boat Dock: Our private deep-water dock is 40 feet long. There is no charge for docking for guests but reservations must be made in advance. Electrical (30 amp) hook-up and water hook-up are available at $20 dollars per day. No overnight guests may sleep on boat. There is no charge for just tying up your boat, but we must know in advance because we only have one side of the dock available for guest boats.

 

Firewood: Firewood is available for units with fireplaces.

 

Provisions: We provide just about everything for basic housekeeping. We provide Coffee and Tea and basic condiments. We do no provide any food. We are a vacation rental and not a bed & breakfast. You will need to bring your own personal toiletries.  We are a self-sufficient vacation rental, there is no daily housekeeping.
